Latino Community Center offers various innovative technology programs and activities including natural tehnology in the form of Urban Environmental Education. Our goal is to break the digital divide in our community and offer technology trainings, programs, and services that are next level compared to the current traditional programs offered by most.

The Youth Program's initiatives are to educate youth in basic computer literacy and to prepare youth for the teen courses and advanced technical classes. The curriculum consists of lessons in keyboarding, basic computer hardware, MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, internet use and educational games and websites. Students will earn a certificate in Adobe Photoshop upon completion of class.

The Adult Program's initiatives are to offer computer literacy programs and certifications for adults. The Adult Program teaches basic computer and software instruction to better adult's knowledge of computer hardware and software and to assist in attaining a GED and employment. Courses include A+ Pre-Certification, GED courses, the internet and necessary software that is currently being used in the workplace to become a more productive employee.

In 2004 the Technology Department secured and accepted 25 Pentium III computers from the Milwaukee Area Technical College to use in their New Media Lab to teach a Pre-A+ Certification class. The Technology Department also secured and accepted 5 Pentium II computers from the UWM Extension. NCNE also donated 5 Pentium II computers, a network router and a color printer. Through the TRIO program the Technology Department secured and received two HP P4 laptops. We also secured and received a software donation grant (totaling $2696.00) from Adobe¨ which supplied us with licensed copies of Adobe¨ ÂPhotoshop CS, Illustrator CS, After Effects Pro V.6, and Premiere Pro 1.5.
We have also received the 2004 Youth Garden Grant for the Urban Environment Program which covered supplies for the 2004 summer Growing Roots Program
